Construction of Saulkrasti bypass

Construction period: 2005.-2007.
1st, 2nd stage – status of contractor, 3rd stage –general contractor.
Works performed:
-construction of new road and bridges;
-earth works, frost blanket course construction;
-aggregate mix subgrade, bituminous construction;
-construction of drainage, electric installation works and road lightening system.
Contest arranged by the Association of Constructors of “Latvia Best Construction Project of 2007”- 1st prize in nomination “Engineering Structure”.
The Saulkrasti beltway is 20.2 km long with 11.5 m wide asphalt-concrete cover from lilaste to Duči. There are 17 various traffic constructions throughout the beltway:bridges, traffic flyovers, pedestrian tunnels as well as access roads of 13 km.
There were 7 two-level road flyovers with lighting and 6 new bridges over the Inčupe, the Ķīšupe, the Aģe, the Pēterupe and the Mazupīte constructed. Two tunnels were built for convenience of pedestrians and cyclists as well as pedestrian pathways of 4.4 km. Noise reduction walls, dense fences and metal net fences were built in individual places.
